I don't drink, i've been piss drunk maybe twice and being high is just more intense, and for me its not expensive cause my tolerance sucks, so one hit and im toasted for a couple hours. And whats better, i don't have to worry about burnouts and greenouts.
On an alcohol side note, i think quaters is the best game ever. |
What more can I say, I wouldn't be here today, if the old school didn't pave the way. |

I dont do either anymore which makes gettin laid a little more of a challenge, I would have chose weed if it was still that good exotic from the 70's and early 80s.
Yeah those Newports are a b****ch to quit. |

| Alcohol, definitely. Seen too many people of my generation (mid to late 20s) develop problems due to smoking weed. An underrated danger to mental health. Not to say alcohol is harmless by any means... |

| used to do both. I always been more of a drinker. I would smoke weed and get the cotton mouth and it would make me drink more. We called it cross training back in the day. I don't drink as much liquor just mostly beer. As far as performing goes I can't do it at all on weed. I will forget what joke goes where and when. Drinking I can maintain but not on weed. I have found that most people are one or the other. |

I used to enjoy both. I smoked a lot of weed, usually with a beer or two, back in the day, when I was in shape, happy, and spent my free time hanging with my friends. These days I'm in crap shape and stressed out by work and family. As much as I'd like to light up and relax like the good ol times it never works anymore. Usually I get paranoid and/or agitated. I really think weed tends to amplify your mood, so if you're in a crappy mood don't bother. I used to get really high, put on some tunes, and travel Sun Ra's outer spaceways. These days I can't seem to leave the station.
So I'll stick with a beer or two now and then. Perhaps when I'm 80 years old and crippled up I'll buy a huge bong and some pillow-sized sacks of weed and resume where I left off. |

Back in the day it was blunt city for me. Everyday all day. I was a weed-ologist. Even had a job where i could smoke at work back in the early to mid 90's (damn i miss that job). And this was a fortune 500 company i worked for at the time. Me and some co-workers used to see who had the best weed. My white co-workers would win until i got a hook up with some purple dro....then i was killing them. But those were the days.
If i smoke weed now I'm extremely paranoid. Only music or my wife can calm this paranoia. I damn sure can't smoke any blunts anymore, those days are dead. As a few people on this board who know me personally can attest to. I'm not the most fun guy to smoke weed with.
So now it's the after work Pub that me and some co-workers frequent every thursday. And even then i only drink Long Islands.........never ever beer.
So at this point I vote for alcohol...
Like Ready Red said, and i feel him, if i can only put down the Newports. Sh*t.....I'm smoking one right now...lol |

These two are the best for casual, intelligent, responsible use.
They really complement each other nicely.
Sure you can abuse both, but you can also use them for benefit.
One difference is very few people get violent on weed. Alcohol seems to get people mad.
Both can really make you lazy because you can just enjoy being a spectator so much while high or drunk. This is a great way to appreciate something artistic like a movie or a new album.
I think both substances can get people to open up and be artsy and creative. You have to have some motivation in order to get busy doing what you do, though, so it is a challenge to produce some output in these twisted conditions. Music really benefits from this. Our society has benefited greatly from weed and beer.
I know people who have serious issues and get really freaked out on alcohol or weed because they can't handle their own thoughts and fears.
On the other hand I know people who have serious issues and get away from their problems while high or drunk, and so they actually are more fun to be around while they can ignore their troubles.
Not everybody is prepared to travel the brain's various pathways.
It really depends on what you've got stored up in your brain to start with.

Yeah, when I made this thread, I was smoking weed every day. But I've kinda chilled with that.
Weed is for suckers. It slows you down.
I smoked some weed about a week ago, but before that it had been a month. And probably another month before that. |
