And the thing is, this thread happenned yesterday when I wasn't online. So I didn't get a chance to add on to the thread. The Thread has been pushed back to the second page, so its too late to add on.
But the best part was when the person who started the thread said
[person 1] Early 80s rappers are wack
[person 2] You probably can't even name any early 80s rappers
[person 1] Africa Bambaattaa, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash. They suck |

peace,
i have these same debates with this kat who works with me. he is in his 20's and seems to think that rap only is hip hop and these clowns today are true emcees. he's always telling me that Flash is wack and he doesn't want to hear anything from back then. he does not know true hip hop....i pay some of these young kats no mind because they are brainwashed by the wack radio, video, and some of these magazines.

These punks don't know that there stuff wouldn't be around if it wasn't for our guys.
It disgusts me. There is a 22 year old kid at my work who just marvels at the fact I know so much about Old School and he sucks it all in because he likes the history side of what he listens to. |

I've only read that DaveyD site a handful of times but it amuses me, in a pathetic kind of way.
Topics either have 1 reply or else they're 10 pages long and babbling on about 2pac conspiracy theories, inane discussions about Emimem and Cannibus that end in excessive use of corny smiley emoticons and mom jokes.
I mean, christ, we've had some stupid and pointless discussions here that've descended into chaos, many of which i've participated in and even caused, but there was a sense of entertainment and even intelligent debate involved amongst all the playing devils advocate/sonning/arguing/bullsh1t/drama/jokes.
Judging from the links 5 Grand just posted i'd say the denizens of that site are A. 14 year old newjacks, B. gimmick accounts looking for attention, and C. clinically braindead.
I think i've just lost braincells myself from reading that nonsense. |

the funny thing i read from that was that one kat saying that kats from the 80's rhymed about Super Sperm, Wave Your Hands, and Bum Diggity.....LOL
i guess that there weren't any rhymes social conditions, the culture of Hip Hop or here's a good one....one's SKILLS on da mike.....LOL

Actually, that was a link to sohh.com. Davey D.com is much better. In fact, Davey D has some good discussions every once in a while, but sohh is much more active, that's the reason I check out that site, because there's always like 50 people logged in at any given moment. You can go back and forth all day if you want...... not that I don't have anything better to do than go back and forth with "A. 14 year old newjacks, B. gimmick accounts looking for attention, and C. clinically braindead." Those young kids are BORED and DISPLEASED at the music that they are forced to deal with these days, so out of ANGER they spew hatred to those who know of BETTER DAYS...i.e (true school, golden era)...
I see it as jealosy, they make me feel good to be a 30 something male who was able to witness HIP HOP in it's prime.
To HELL WITH THOSE UNGRATEFUL BRATS, with thier fukking ipods and sattelite radio, they have OPTIONS, much of what they hate comes out of ignorance, hell i didn't witness the era with the cold crush and the d.j hollywood's , so instead of rage, i would be curious to find out ......
That's what's wrong with many of today's "rap" sites (SOHH, ALLHIPHOP)is that they are full of reactionary unenlightenged youths, whom can't find fullfillment in today's entertainment world.
