| I'm not sure - I know little of him in the early days. But I DO know he was diabolical by the mid-80's, and apparently f*cked everyone off at UK Fresh '86, by having a diva-like ego and attitude of self-importance! (although 'Amityville' was quite amusing). |

He apparently tussled with Grandmaster Flash at UK Fresh after telling Flash that - as he was going on after him - it meant he was better that him. This was all too much for Flash's kingsize ego and he replied with a left hook.
The two of them had to be separated after that -

Yeah, I just heard Live at the Fever part 1 for the first time a few weeks ago. But I remember "Do the Right Thing". From my recollection I went to New Jersey in the summer of 84 and they were playing
Fast Life - Jeckyl and Hyde Can You Feel It- Fat Boys Request Line - Rockmaster Scott Do the Right Thing - Lovebug Starski
And to this day, those 4 songs always sound alike to me. If I was DJing, I'd probably mix those 4 songs together. |

I think he was a bit of both. He was very much inspired by dj hollywood, but he just to play more hiphop songs and that's why he was also popular in the hiphop curcuit.
He Also made "Fight Rap" in 1985 for the "Rappin" soundtrack.
I don't think "Gangster rock" was by lovebug. I think it was Little Starski, and i don't think he's the same as lovebug and he also isn't busy bee. His voice sound not the same.

from my understanding he also coined the PHRAZE HIP HOP as far as in the HIP HOP comunity (the words existed before the culture through radio disc jockeys) also he inspired BUZY B to use the name STARSKI as well. love bug starski buzy b starski
he was rerspected in the hood as well as in the clubs
and he was also concidered one of the best party rockin DJ's who can rock the turntables and the mic at the same time

graff not part of HIP HOP? FAMOUS HIP HOP PIONEERS THAT WERE ALSO WRITERS HERC BAM ROCK STEADY CAZ KRS ZULUS DEZ (now known as DK KAY SLAY) ect...the list goes on... and who designed allot of the flyers for these HIP HOP jams? PHASE 2 was a writer! and he was'nt the only writer doing flyers CRASH DAZE KEL ect..
graff has been a part of street life in the BRONX since before HERC started ROCKIN what happened was this there was alwasy writers, of all colors and nationalities and each ethnic group listened to there own music, but for the most part every black and latino was always into heavy rock (the gangstas), soul, r&b, Salsa, ect.. this was all in the late 60's early 70's
but towards the late 70's, the black and latino graff subculture was merging with What was then known as just ROCKIN, OR JAMS, (NO REAL NAME FOR THE CULTURE YET) but it was in the early 80's with the movie WILD STYLE, and the documentary STYLE WARS, and of course the famous ROXY, that really solidified the elements of what BAM coined as HIP HOP.
it is true that allot of the white kids were not really into what we call HIP HOP today, there were a few though but once the movie Wild Style came out, and the ROXY opened up, it also opened upo the doors to our white GRAFF BROTHERS like FUTURA, MIN, ZEPHYR and many others who had incredible street credability and fit right into the ROXY scene, and in my opinon they were all HIP HOP.. peace wiggles |

| PEACE LOVEBUG IS DEFINATELY HIP-HOP HE WAS IN THE STREETS BUT HE ALSO HAD THE CLUB SCENE ON LOCK. HE WOULD DO A BLOCK PARTY IN DAY WITH HOLLYWOOD THEN THEY WPOULD TAKE IT TO THE CLUBS. BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER STARSKI WAS AN EX BLACK SPADE WITH AFRIKA BAMBAATAA SO HE HAD A STREET REP. AS FAR AS THE CLUB STUFF WAS CONCERNED HE WAS OUR ONLY REAL LINK TO THAT STUFF CAUSE BACK THEN MOST OF US DID NOT GO TO CLUBS CAUSE THEY WERE ON SOME JIGGY STUFF. YOU HAD TO HAVE ON SHOES AND NICE GEAR AND ALL THAT, IF YOU STARTED B-BOYING THEY WOULD DIS YOU. SAY THINGS LIKE GET OUTTA HERE WITH ALL THAT SPINNING ON YOUR HEAD CRAP. LATER ON WE HAD OUR OWN PLACES TO PLAY LIKE THE HEVALO, STARDUST BALLROOM, THE RENNY,HOTEL DIPLOMAT, T-CONNECTION JUST TO NAME A FEW. |
